Herbal Ornament Balls: Solstice Intention Setting Ceremony

Herbal Manifestation Ornament

Gather your friends for afternoon of releasing old energy and calling in your desires.

The magic thing about manifestation is that we don’t have to wait for the New Year to reflect on our lives and set goals. We can take advantage of every second of everyday to set our intentions and shift our energy to align with the vibration of our desires. The New Year is just a symbolic time reflection and goal setting, but you don’t have to limit yourself.

I spent the shortest day of the year in the company of some lovely woman with whom I got to get clear about what I wanted to let go of and what I wanted to manifest into my life, and we made some lovely Herbal Ornaments to commemorate the experience.

During the experience, we spent time visiting with one another, then moved into a guided meditation where we quieted our minds, grounded our energy, felt into our hearts, released energy that no longer serves us, set our intentions for the New Year, and gave ourselves some really sweet, loving energy.

We shared with each other the things we are releasing and what we are calling into our lives. By sharing aloud, we serve as witnesses and accountability partners to one another. Also, our words and the energy behind our intentions are projected out into the Universe for manifestation. Be sure to be really clear about your intentions. Feel in your body what it would be like to have your intentions actualized. That is the beginning of aligning to the vibration of what you want to manifest.

Ornaments Ready to be Filled

Dried herbs and a selection of gemstones for manifestation.

To make your own Solstice Intention-setting Herbal Ornament, you only need a few simple goodies:

Materials:

1 3.5” clear ornament ball per person (available on Amazon, get a few extra incase any break)

1 little piece of paper that rolls up to the size of the cinnamon stick

Dried Herbs:

1 Cinnamon stick

1 tbs Chamomile

1 tbs Lavender

1 Bay leaf leaf

1 Eucalyptus leaf

1 Yerba Santa Spring and/or Rosemary

Sage for burning and for putting into your ornament

Gemstones: (use what calls to you, but make sure it will fit into the opening of your ornament ball). The stones I used were all for self love, protection, and abundance.

1 Rose Quarts

1 Amethyst

1 Dessert Rose

1 Quartz Crystal

Chose Gemstones that Call to You

Think about what you want to manifest. Research which gemstones represent that energy. Consult with the owner of the gemstones shoppe to help you make your selection. *Make sure they fit into the opening of your ornament.

Once you have your materials complied,

gather a few friends or just sit with yourself and think of what energy you want to release. Say it aloud and/or write it down: “I am releasing…” Then, contemplate what you want more of and how you can create that in your life. A little hint, this is usually the opposite of what you want to release: ie. “I am releasing self-doubt. I am calling in self-confidence and faith in my abilities.” Once you have a clear message of what you are call in, hold your Quartz Crystal in your right hand and speak right into it to “program” it with your intentions. Additionally, write your intention(s) down your tiny piece of paper and roll it up and tie it with a piece of string. You will add it to your ornament ball, and it looks so cute.

Once your intentions are set and programmed into your crystal, light your sage and fill your ornament ball with the smoke of the sage. This acts to “crescent” your ornament and prepare the space to receive your herbs and gemstones. You can add the contents in whatever order you like, but we found that it works well to add the loose, dried herbs first: camomile and lavender flowers, then the yerba santa and/or rosemary, bay and eucalyptus leaves, then the cinnamon stick, and lastly, your gemstones and tiny scroll.

Filling the Ornament with Sacred Sage Smoke

Prepare the ornament to receive your intentions.

Even though the end product is an ornament, you can place your Herbal Manifestation Ball wherever you like. Chose a place where you will see it and be reminded of your intentions, year round. A few ideas are: in the kitchen window, in your bathroom, in your closet, somewhere in your bedroom, and of course on your Christmas tree, while it is still up.

This is a great experiential gift idea to provide for a group of your friends. Or, you can ask each friend to contribute to the shared cost of the materials. Another idea is to have each friend gather and bring the contents of their own ornament. And, if you have and entrepreneurial spirit, you can make a little seasonal side-gig out of this:

-Gather all of the materials yourself,

-Secure a space that can hold 8-12 participants,

-Set dates and times for your events,

-Create a social media marketing flier and consistently advertise your event.

Be sure to ask your friends to like and share your posts and to help spread the event via word-of-mouth. You can request payment be send via Venmo or PayPal, and of course cash or check.

This is sure to be a heart-felt and memorable experience for all who are involved. Happy intention setting.
